We’re excited to share an important milestone for our community.

Last month, Stone Parish Council formally resolved to become a Town Council – a change that recognises the council’s operations and the area’s continued growth, civic maturity, and future potential.

Following that transition, we are now proud to share that Councillor Jessica McQueen was elected as our first Town Mayor at last week’s Annual council meeting.

🎥 Watch the Mayor’s video message below to learn more about this transition and what it means for you.

In the Mayor’s address, you’ll hear about:

  • The significance of becoming a Town Council

  • The upcoming launch of new community facilities at Stone Recreation Ground

  • How to participate in shaping our strategic plan for the next three years

  • A community consultation about whether our parish name should be updated to better reflect our identity

As we move into this next chapter, we want to ensure our residents, businesses, and community groups are part of every step. From local services to long-term priorities, your voice will help shape Stone’s future.

We’ve prepared a draft strategic plan and will soon be launching a series of consultations and engagement activities.

Let’s shape the future of our town, together.
