Working for Stone Parish Council
We are the local council for over 13,000 residents in Stone, Dartford, Kent, consisting of 12 council members and a workforce of around 25 (14 FTE), we are an active and hard-working team that strives to improve the quality of the local area.
We provide a host of community-level services such as venues for hire, activities for youth and seniors, maintenance of over 50 acres of public realm, parks, gardens and allotments, and community events.
We are currently at an exciting time, with recent improvements to our facilities and the introduction of new services. We have an ambitious Strategic Plan for 2025-28 that will see us transition to a town council, host a vibrant calendar of community events, encourage citizen collaboration, and tackle environmental concerns.
Our Ethical and Unbiased Recruitment Process
In place of CV’s, we have instated application forms that ask relevant questions to initially assess candidate’s skills and suitability based on their response. This ensures we cannot be biased regarding characteristics such as appearance, ethnicity or age, and educational attainment and previous employment, which are poor predictors of ability anyway.
