The council has a vacancy for a parish councillor in the Castle Ward of Stone Parish Council.The role of councillor is varied and involves contributing to decisions on local policies and issues affecting residents. Meetings are held once or twice a month and, on average, being a councillor requires around 5-10 hours unpaid commitment per month.
Being a councillor is a fantastic way to get involved in real grass roots democracy and influence local services and facilities for the benefit of the community. The Council is involved with some exciting projects including recent construction of the Claire Tiltman Centre, delivery of objectives contained in the Stone Neighbourhood Plan, construction of a £4.3m Recreation Ground Masterplan scheme, Carbon Net Zero 2030 and the Tree-Year Plan.
The council intends to fill this vacancy by co-option at the next full council meeting on: Wednesday 27th November 2024, 7pm.
