What is the purpose of this role?
The council aims to ensure a high standard of appearance and cleanliness at council facilities to ensure staff and visitors enjoy a clean and safe environment.
This role is designed to take responsibility for the daily cleaning of council facilities and provide occasional cover for holidays or absence as necessary. |

We will look to you to provide a high level of support to the council including:
- ensuring that staff and guests receive an efficient, friendly, and consistent service and all areas of the facility are at the highest levels of cleanliness
- taking over cleaning overspill from daytime events
- notifying the Facilities Manager when materials are running low so they can be re-ordered
- ensuring any equipment faults, failure or maintenance issues are identified and reported to the Facilities Manager as soon as discovered.

- providing information as necessary to hirers

You will be responsible for …
- polishing mirrors and glass
- emptying rubbish and recycling from bins and transferring to main point
- dust, damp wipe, wash or polish furniture, ledges, window sills, external surfaces of cupboards, radiators, shelves and fitments
- mopping floors and hoovering carpets to ensure floors are clean and free of debris
- ensuring sufficient stock of clean and ironed tablecloths
- watering plants
- cleaning bathrooms and kitchens including toilets, urinals, hand basins, sinks and showers, taps, tiles, splashbacks and doors, cookers, microwaves and fridges
- refill toilet paper and paper towel dispensers in all cubicles and bathrooms
- carrying out special or deep cleaning projects
- undertaking training relevant to your role
- attending and actively participating in team meetings

Hours & Salary
Hours: 14 per week, over a minimum of 5 days
Salary: Paid at the Living Wage, currently £9.90ph |
