1 – Election of Chairperson
Members were asked for nominations for Chairperson of the Strategic Planning & Environment Committee for 2025-26. A nomination was received for Councillor McQueen. There were no other nominations and members unanimously voted to elect Councillor McQueen as Chairperson of the Strategic Planning & Environment Committee for 2025-26.
2 – Election of Vice Chairperson
Members were asked for nominations for Vice-Chairperson of the Strategic Planning & Environment Committee for 2025-26. A nomination was received for Councillor Thredgle. There were no other nominations and members unanimously voted to elect Councillor Thredgle as Vice-Chairperson of the Strategic Planning & Environment Committee for 2025-26.
3 – Apologies of Absence
Apologies for absence were received from Cllr Burrell.
4 – Disclosure of Pecuniary Interests
There were no disclosures of pecuniary interest.
5 – Draft Strategic Plan Consultation Response
Members were presented with consultation responses for the current draft Strategic Plan for 2025-2028. Members were asked to note the responses and to consider the issues raised. Members were then asked to propose amendments to the Strategic Plan based on the consultation response received.
The report laid out each individual issue raised and provided a suggested action for inclusion in the plan. Members discussed each issue and proposed a response.
The Clerk confirmed that the Committee’s responses would be included in the Draft Strategic Plan, which would be presented for consideration at the next Strategic Planning & Environment Committee.
Members resolved Committee responses to consultation feedback to be included in the draft Strategic Plan 2025-2028.
There being no further business, the Chairperson closed the meeting at 21:15.
