On 3rd October 2024, Stone Parish Council Members received a detailed presentation from Dartford Borough Council officers regarding the progress of the London Road Green Corridor scheme. This project is a key element of the Stone Neighbourhood Plan, adopted in 2022. It aims to improve residents’ mobility across the parish by introducing dedicated cycle paths, upgrading footpaths, and creating green spaces to help combat pollution and enhance the local environment.

Council Members were pleased to hear that, following the latest Dartford Borough Council cabinet meeting, the committee approved the scheme to move into the next phase—a public consultation. This consultation will present indicative design ideas, with the goal of gathering feedback and assessing community support for the scheme.

Stone Parish Council will work closely with Dartford Borough Council to ensure the consultation reaches as many residents as possible, encouraging everyone to share their views on this vital initiative.

Reports from the most recent Dartford Borough Council meeting that took place on Thursday 26th September, including indicative design work, can be found here.
