With our upcoming move to a larger, modern space, we are expanding our team and looking for an enthusiastic leader to drive our next chapter of success.
The Café Manager Role (NJC scale points 18 – 28, £30,559 – £37,938):
As Café Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of food service, and leading a dedicated team. Your role will include:
☕ Managing café operations – stock control, ordering, and supplier coordination
🍰 Leading and motivating the team – training, scheduling, and performance management
👨👩👧👦 Delivering excellent customer service – creating a welcoming environment for all visitors
💡 Developing menus & promotions – bringing fresh ideas to enhance the café offering
📊 Ensuring compliance – maintaining food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
🌱 Supporting sustainability initiatives – helping us minimise waste and operate ethically
What We’re Looking For:
✔ Previous experience in café or hospitality management
✔ A hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment
✔ Excellent customer service and communication skills
✔ A passion for cooking and fresh food presentation
✔ Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
✔ Food hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain)
The Kitchen Staff Role (NJC scale 5 – 7, £24,790 – £25,584):
As Kitchen Staff, you will play a key role in delivering delicious, freshly prepared healthy food, ensuring that every customer has a fantastic experience. Your responsibilities will include:
🍳 Preparing and cooking food to a high standard
🧼 Ensuring food hygiene and kitchen safety standards are met
💡 Bringing creative ideas to improve our café offering
👨🍳 Working collaboratively with the Café Manager and team
What We’re Looking For:
✔ Excellent customer service and communication skills
✔ A passion for cooking and fresh food presentation
✔ Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
✔ Food hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain)
Hospitality Assistants (Casual, zero hours contract, National Living Wage, £12.60 per hour):
We are looking for zero-hours hospitality staff to work across our venues, including Lizzie’s Café at Stone Recreation Ground, Stone Pavilion, and The Claire Tiltman Centre. You will be responsible for:
☕ Serving food & drinks in our community café
🍹 Working behind the bar at private events, parties, and functions
💡 Engaging with customers to create a positive experience
📦 Assisting with food preparation and service
🧼 Keeping all service areas clean and presentable
💳 Handling payments and using the till
What We’re Looking For:
✔ Friendly, positive attitude and excellent people skills
✔ Experience in hospitality, customer service, or bar work (preferred but not essential)
✔ A flexible approach – able to work shifts across multiple venues on an as-needed basis
✔ Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
✔ A team player who enjoys engaging with the local community
✔ Availability to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and special events
✔ Over 18s only due to bar work requirements
